Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was evident from the moment she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first race, Felix was 2nd in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix has graduated from high school in 2003, signed an agreement with Adidas. After that, she was accepted into the University of Southern California and pursued a degree in elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s, setting a new junior world record. The year 2005 was the time she became the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007, defeating her longtime Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and consistently placed in the top three of athletes at her particular events.
