Charisma Carpenter
Charisma Carpenter was born on July 23 70 years ago. She was Cordelia Chase in the series of supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-1999) and its spin-off series Angel (1999-2004). She also appeared on Charmed (2004), Kendall Casablancas and Veronica Mars (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell and Lacy in The Lying Game (2012–2013 strong>).
Carpenter was born in Las Vegas (Nevada) as the daughter of Christine Carpenter who is working in the bird sanctuary, and Don Carpenter, an entrepreneur. Carpenter is from Spanish (from her maternal grandmother), French, German and German descent. Carpenter was a student at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. [6] Carpenter was also a member of the group of dancers and song-makers that was throughout the Las Vegas Valley when Carpenter was just nine years old.
When Carpenter was 15, her family moved to Rosarito Beach, Baja California Mexico. She then moved to San Diego, California. She attended Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. [2][failed verification] Following graduation, Carpenter traveled throughout Europe. When she returned to San Diego, she worked as a clerk at a video store as well as an aerobics instructor and as a property manager. In 1991 she played cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers. In 1992, she relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles.
Henry Hubbard Jr. was a former San Diego officer and serial rapist who tried to subdue her as well as two of her male acquaintances as they were swimming in San Diego in 1991. During the fight, both her friends and Hubbard were killed, forcing him to flee the scene; both friends survived the assault. Hubbard was arrested, later convicted, and sentenced to 56 years in prison for a string of rapes and robberies. Carpenter took Hubbard's police-issue flashlight from the beach which he left on the beach, and the flashlight turned out to be one of the key pieces of evidence against him.
Carpenter was ranked No. Carpenter was ranked No. 31 on the AskMen's Top 99 desirable women 2002[30]. 44 on their list of 2005. Carpenter stated that she doesn't consider herself to be a sex symbol in spite of this. Carpenter was on the cover of Playboy magazine's June 2004 issue. The magazine also included her in a ten page nude photo. When she was approached by People magazine in 2005 whether she'd ever be a model for Playboy in the future, she responded, "I don't know. Playboy was something I took on with a purpose. Not only was it an excellent financial decision and a good choice for me, but it was also about my current situation on my journey. Following the birth of my son, I gained 50 lbs in pregnancy. I wanted to be my old self again. I wanted to appear at ease and attractive. I thought: "What if you went completely sexy?"
